Regional Sales Representative - HRDIP

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Regional Sales Representative to lead sales and business development efforts in California and Utah. This role is responsible for overseeing sales activities, managing representatives, and driving business growth within the region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical sales for water and waste water pipeline, with established connections in the territory. This role demands a proactive approach to generating sales, including cold calling, leveraging marketing data leads, responding to incoming inquiries, and maximizing all available sales channels.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and Spec-in for Kubota’s HRDIP products to municipality and engineering firms directly within territory, before and throughout official bidding process. 
  • Collect, analyze and report on market information such as competitors, price, and other KPIs. 
  • Complete all required reports and submit them on time. 
  • Develop close working relationships with various key stakeholders. 
  • Establish and support business partners on technical and sales activities. 
  • Maintain existing and gain new project opportunities within a territory. 
  • Manage, train and assist the sales efforts of KWU’s representatives in the territory. 
  • Work with engineering team to develop new customers and marketing activities. 
  • Increase territory real business growth following KWU HRDIP dept’s target goals. 
  • Participate and help coordinate the sales efforts for products involving other territories and sales staff as needed. 
  • Responsibility includes learning sales and shipping logistics specific to KWU business, working under corporate guidance on sales-accounting matters. 
  • Work independently and stay self-motivated in a high-volume sales environment. 
  • Travel up to 70% within territory and nationally as required.

Performance Metrics

  • Annual Sales Target Achievement Rate 
  • Number of Projects Awarded 
  • Number of Successful Specifications (Spec-ins) 
  • Number of Appointments Secured

*These performance targets will be discussed and determined at the beginning of each fiscal year.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental or civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience of technical sales experience in industrial pipe (DIP, PVC etc.)
  • Established Regional Sales Representative with strong business development experience.
  • Physical demand: the position will require travel, to meet with various outside partners and clients.
  • Strong technical and professional communication with clients, owners, and engineers. 
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven project management and customer relationship skills, fostering long-term partnerships and KWU brand preference. 
  • Active participation in regional industry conferences, leveraging industry relationships to expand market reach. 

Salary

The salary range will take into account a wide range of factors that include a candidate’s geographic location; education; skills; experience and training, and industry knowledge; licensure and certifications. The hired candidate will be eligible for compensation between $80,000 - $120,000 Base Salary plus a Discretionary Bonus Structure.
