Field Service Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a Field Service Technician to lead in maintenance and troubleshooting of advanced, multi-complex system issues, including membrane bioreactor (MBR) systems and other water treatment technologies, deliver high-quality customer service, and maintain client relationships. This role requires deep expertise in mechanical, electrical, and process control systems, as well as the ability to proactively handle multiple projects and customer sites.  Including but not limited to programming, electrical, biological process, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural issues.  Frequent travel within the Southeast region is required for this role. Preference will be given to candidates residing in the Southeast region, to effectively serve our clients in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

Responsibilities

  • Independently lead advanced system troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
  • Perform high-level diagnostics on PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems.
  • Analyze technical issues, propose solutions, and execute corrective actions.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior and mid-level technicians.
  • Develop technical documentation, maintenance plans, and best practices.
  • Coordinate field service operations across multiple customer sites.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of company products and industry best practices.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to improve system performance.
  • 50 - 90% travel to customer sites as required and up to 25% home/office work.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent technical certifications and industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in water/wastewater treatment, field service, or plant engineering.
  • Expert knowledge of MBR systems, wastewater treatment, and process control.
  • Strong background in PLC programming, HMI, and SCADA system architecture.
  • Experience with CAD design and system integration.
  • Ability to obtain all required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.) and obtain DOT medical card.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel (50-90% travel required based on location).
  • Ability to walk, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs. at job sites.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or MS degree in engineering or equivalent technical certifications and experience.
  • Expertise with MBR systems or wastewater treatment.
  • Technical training or experience with PLC/HMI programming.
  • Class A or B CDL license with applicable endorsements.
  • Wastewater treatment plant operator license.

Salary

The pay range for this role is $66,500 - $115,000. The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that include a candidate’s skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location. Hired candidate will be eligible to receive discretionary annual bonus.
